Waka Hotels Management Opens NusaBay Menjangan by WHM
August, 2015
For immediate release – Waka Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the opening of ‘NusaBay Menjangan by WHM,’ which rests in blissful beachside seclusion within the boundaries of the West Bali National Park. The Resort caters to travellers seeking an offthe- beaten-track experience within a wild and supremely beautiful part of Bali.
The property, formerly known as Shorea Beach Resort, is now under the management of WHM and has undergone extensive renovation. Six Lanai Cottages and one 2-bedroom villa (out of a total of 14 Lanai Cottages and two villas), are now ready to accommodate guests. Each spacious lanai cottage is elevated above the ground, just footsteps from the beach, and each comprises an air-conditioned bedroom furnished with a canopied kingsize bed, an ensuite bathroom with a monsoon shower, and a private balcony. The 2- bedroom villa rests absolutely beachfront in a private sand-floored courtyard, complete with an open-sided ‘bale’ pavilion for relaxation or private dining. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and an ensuite bathroom fitted with a soaking tub, an indoor monsoon shower, and an outdoor shower open to the sky. The second bedroom is selfcontained and has an ensuite bathroom with a monsoon shower.
The Resort’s facilities are fully operational, and include a reception pavilion, a swimming pool, restaurant, spa, and ocean recreation centre, operated by ‘Blue Corner Dive’ an international PADI certified dive company. In keeping with NusaBay Menjangan’s ecotourism concept, a range of specialist activities has been tailored to the area. Currently available are ranger-led nature and bird-watching treks seeking deer, wild boar, monkeys and Bali starlings; as well as world-class snorkelling and scuba diving trips to Menjangan Island, which is a ten-minute boat ride from the Resort’s jetty.
The Operations Manager at NusaBay Menjangan is Pak Kadek (Dede) Susastrawan; he started working for Waka Hotels & Resorts in 2013 as Assistant Director of Sales. He maintains, “I enjoy working for a company that really cares about nature and culture, and I love the charm and uniqueness of the location. Wild deer and black monkeys roam free, and the buildings are steeped in Balinese charm. I’m also very proud of my team; they work together well, they are humble, and they provide great service.”
