With our extensive plant-based menu, vegans and vegetarians needn’t worry about lack of options at Waka Hotels & Resorts

It’s no secret that mindful eating has moved into the mainstream in recent years. More and more people around the world are transitioning to vegan or vegetarian diets in a bid to be kinder to animals and the earth. Despite this, menus for meat-free diners aren’t always all that inspiring. Thankfully, it’s a different story at Waka Hotels & Resorts, where guests can enjoy an extensive range of specially created vegetarian and vegan dishes.

Our semi-al-fresco restaurant at WakaGangga overlooks a secluded black-sand beach on Tabanan’s wild west coast. It’s a setup that embraces nature, with slats of wood letting in plenty of natural light and only the sounds of the waves as soundtrack to your meal.

Highlights of Chef Putu’s vegetarian/vegan small plates include the gado-gado (V), a traditional Indonesian salad of poached vegetables with a rich and warm peanut sauce, and the tomato, bocconcini, arugula, pesto, and radicchio salad. Among the restaurant’s signature main courses are the pepes jamur (V), marinated mushroom in banana leaves with steamed rice; and the baked tempeh (V) with wine risotto, shiitake mushrooms, broccoli and mushroom sauce.

At NusaBay Menjangan by WHM the breezy beachfront restaurant overlooks Kotal Beach in the West Bali National Park — another breathtaking natural setting.

The dedicated plant-based offerings include salads, soups, Asian specialties, grilled dishes and pastas. The hand rolled gnocchi with eggplant and zucchini, and tahu laksa (V), a Malaysian-inspired bowl with tofu, bean sprouts and Chinese cabbage in a coconut broth are both highly recommended. Local favourite bubur injin (V) is among the vegan desserts, a delicious sweet and sticky black rice pudding.

Our meat-free menus at both WakaGangga and NusaBay Menjangan by WHM feature more than 20 creations, but let our waiting staff know if there’s a particular dish you’re craving and we’ll do our best to prepare it for you.
