This year has been full of highlights for Cabana Cartel – from signing some of our first wholesalers to launching our second range. Having spent the last 8 months in Mallorca, it was such a treat to visit Bali again, our heartland, especially after a frosty few months throughout Winter! From creating all our new prints with Breeze Design Studio to sampling and shooting our new collection within a mere 6 weeks, we did manage to squeeze in some work and play, all in one!
Our time in Bali would not have been complete without a day out to Lembongan! With the smaller, low key islands being a mere 30 minutes away, it’s too easy to head out for a day of snorkelling and island hopping, something we wanted to squeeze in before heading back to chilly Europe! After searching for some cool places to shoot in Bali, we came across Waka Hotels and Resorts who offer an array of activities such as Land Cruiser excursions (WakaLandCruise) and visits to the Unesco World Heritage Sites on the island. They very kindly offered to host us on a magical day out sailing to Lembongan and of course we jumped at the chance!
We arrived early morning to their Waka Marina in Benoa Harbour and were presented with the prettiest tropical starfruit drinks, perfect after our steamy ride on the mopeds from Seminyak! Their gorgeous welcome lounge overlooked the harbour where we admired the WakaSailing Catamaran, way bigger and more luxurious than we anticipated. In a league of it’s own already, we knew we were in for a treat. Unlike the regular tourist boats, there was plenty of space to enjoy the breeze, open water and views of majestic Mount Agung. We boarded the 55 foot Catamaran and were informed of the various safety procedures along with day’s itinerary.
The weather was perfect, our models were bright eyed and bushy tailed and we were ready to shoot! Our lovely Sophia, from taoofsophia.com, with her signature 70’s style captured the essence of our brand with some dreamy shots of our Cabana Girls – Karina, Misha, Sabine Van Kooperen and Sabine Voest!
We set sail and admired the smooth, mirrorred appearance of the sea, excited for our little island adventure! The crew of 5 made sure we stayed hydrated with chilled drinks, fruit and snacks the entire time we were on board. The service was on point and the Captain made sure we had some fun tunes along the way!
After dropping the anchor at Tamarind Bay in Lembongan we were lucky enough to have the boat to ourselves in order to film some aerial drone footage for our latest campaign “A Place in the Sun”. Brandon’s camera work is unreal and we were over the moon to have him involved in this collaboration – he captured the day beautifully! Check out more of his work here and here …
